Books, Short Stories, Magazines and More by BJ Neblett
Hello again! First I want to thank all of you for your support for my writing through the years. My books and magazines are among the most popular. And I enjoy your comments and questions. One question I get most often I will (finally) address right here. Below you will find a catalogue of my work. Simply click the photo for a link to more information and availability. And thanks again for your support! Look for a new novel and more later this year! And be sure to click on the image on the right to be the first to get a new story in a forthcoming book!
Peace,
BJ

Peace,

If you should have any trouble with any of the links you go directly to either Amazon or the publisher eFiction Magazines! The anthology on the right, Beyond The Hedge is available for preorder now and will be out the first of July. It features brand new stories by myself as well as my buddy and fellow author Alissa Berger. Just click the image.
Currently I am hard at work on the first of a Sci fi trilogy which should be out this fall. Watch right here for more info and a chapter tease! Also, in the works for later this year and into 2017 are compilations of my romance stories and fiction stories. Stay tuned... more to come...

Anniversary and Housekeeping and Bragging
Anniversary
and Housekeeping and Bragging
By
BJ Neblett
Hello
again. I hope 2014 is starting off great for all of you! It looks like this
year will be a great one for writing in general, and for this humble wordsmith.
My first novel Elysian Dreams continues to do well and my best selling historical memoir Ice
Cream Camelot, released as an e book last year will be available in paperback
this spring/summer!
February
4 marks the two year anniversary for this blog. Some 72 posts later and it
seems like just yesterday. But there is a reason why it has been two years, and
why 72 posts, and why both books are selling so well and why I’ve had a dozen
short stories accepted and/or published just this past year. The reason is YOU!
And I can’t thank each and every one of you enough!
According
to Alexa Traffic Ratings, a nifty little APP for keeping track of blog traffic,
in two years this blog site has moved from 4 million plus to a rating of 463,814!
Those numbers translates into a ranking somewhere in the top 18% of all sites on
the web. Not just writer’s sites, or blogs, but a readership and hit rate
in the top 18% to 21% of ALL web sites! YIKES! Last month alone my author blog
received some 2,000 page views. And this during the holiday season when most
people surely had better things to do.
And
that’s not all! The good folks over at Short Story Me who have been publishing
several of my stories report that Seven
Seconds, my chilling tale of suicide, received almost 25,000 reads since it
first appeared on November 10! Yikes again!
And
there’s more: Satan’s Blood, a nifty
little horror story about a night in a federal prison, appeared in eFiction
Magazine recently. The on line literary magazine available through Amazon,
B&N and other E Book distributors now ranks in the top 5% of Amazon’s Kindle
magazine sales! Nice company to be among.
And,
once again, it is all because of YOU! THANK YOU!
Recently
I have seen a huge increase in readership from France, Belgium, Brazil and the
Ukraine and other countries. Not sure where that may have come from, but thank you and welcome to
the fold! Everyone can continue to count on finding only the best in Fantastic
Literature on every visit.
Again,
thanks to all. Let’s keep the ink flowing, the ball rolling and the love growing! Below you will find an updated list of some of the sites where you can find
my humble scribbling. Just click on the link! And in a couple of weeks we’ll be right back to format
with another short story to make you go hummm….
As always please feel free to comment. I’d love to hear your thoughts, ideas for
stories, and anything else you’d care to share.
Peace,
BJ

To Book Or To Blog?
Getting a work published has never been an easy task. While computers, E mail and the internet have all lessened the mechanics and logistics of submitting a manuscript, finding a potential publisher is still a very daunting task. And with the proliferation of the internet comes of course the proliferation of unscrupulous individuals looking for anyway to separate you from your money. In trying to sell Elysian Dreams I ran into many. What’s an author to do?
Around the turn of the century… the 20th century that is… it was common for writers, especially those as of yet unknown, to serialize their work in newspapers and magazines. Edgar Allan Poe, O Henry, Mark Twain and F Scott Fitzgerald all at some point in their career utilized the pages of popular periodicals to showcase their latest work before it went into formal print. While affording the writer and editor weekly reader feedback, serialization placed unknown works into the hands of many who, save for the likes of the Sunday Times or Colliers Magazine, may never have heard of the author. These weekly treats naturally boosted book sales.
Today, newspapers only carry what they consider to be news worthy; literary mags are a dying breed, and the weekly periodical has morphed into non-syllabic photo montages for the attention deficit pop culture set. Once again enter the Internet. Blogging is the new journaling, where a potential audience of multi-millions can read your thoughts, hopes, dreams, ideas and ravings at the click of a key stroke. And once again, the struggling author can reach the multitudes that otherwise may never have heard of him or her.
Is this a good thing?
Let’s save the politics and policies of public blogging for a later discussion.
For now, it is with great anticipation and some trepidation that I have decided to serialize. In the grand tradition of publications long past, starting next Sunday, February 5th, and continuing for the next few Sundays, you will be able to read one of my short stories. If the experiment goes well I may publish more work in this fashion.
And so check back next week. Read. Enjoy. And most of all comment. Keep those cards and letters coming in as they say. There is only one true measure of an author’s success… and it’s not sales. A writer has done their job well when they have made the reader think. As always… let yours truly know what you think. After all, that’s what blogging is all about!
Peace,
BJ
