Time Travel, Writing, And New Releases by BJ Neblett

It's been a while and I can't believe April is almost over. Here in the great northwest we've had more than our share of showers. Not sure about anyone else, but I'm ready for some May flowers... as well as sunshine and warmer temperatures.
Something I am definitely ready for is a new semester of teaching at Hugo House, here in Seattle. This time around I'll be heading up a course titled Introduction To Fiction. Classes run for six weeks and are designed for the beginner, novice and more advanced writers. Join me Tuesdays, from 5 PM til 7 PM, starting May 23rd and running through June 27. This is a popular class and fills up quickly, so be sure to follow this link to sign up: Hugo House, Introduction To Fiction.
While you are registering for classes, you might want to keep this in mind. Starting July 18, I'll be teaching a new class: Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow, Writing About Time Travel In Fiction. This should be an exciting class, exploring the ins and outs, along with the pros and cons, and pitfalls of writing about time travel. We will discuss motifs, trends and personal opinions, as well as look at some classic time travel, from HG Wells to Star Trek to Steven King to Kelly Moore. Make plans now. Classes are Tuesdays at 7:10 PM until 9:10 PM, and start July 18. Check with Hugo House for more information and registration.
Finally, I am still looking for a summer/fall release for my alternate reality/fantasy novel Planet Alt Sete Nine. Of course we all know how publishers work... In the mean time, you can add another KJ McPike winner to your summer reading list. The next book in her YA/NA Fantasy Astralis series, Tenuous, is due out the end of May. This time and dimension traveling adventure continues the story of young Lali and Kai begun in Xodus and continued in Nemesis. You can pre-order Tenuous, as well as find all of my books on Amazon.com and in book stores.
